I have been playing this game for months and I still cant get tired of it. The new armies add depth to an already funny and strategic gameplay. 5 stars.

Now it keeps crashing and when you reopen the game, your AI opponent does not play his tiles leaving you with a huge advantage and making the game pointless. Ipad 2 with last version of the game and all armies unlocked. Please fix.

I have played this for years - it stays fun. Great variety, interesting play. Still being updated. Good choice.

I have owned this game for years it seems. I play several games a day and once I discovered that I could REVERSE the graphics update ended up buying all of the additional armies. All of them are great adding unique game play options except maybe the Dancer which seems to be the favoured “Gang up on and KILL!” units. Mississippi and Sharrash are especially fun. Now the HUGE problem is the “graphic update”. It really destroyed my enjoyment…it was a gut level turn off which I have never experienced in a game before. I stopped playing it completely as it is now insipid, and I feel sorry for anyone who has to use it. The designers should have given the OPTION to change to the more modern tile set, instead of foisting it on us. It has been investigated by various people and there is NO reason they had to change the tiles. They just did it and the game is much worse for it. But I got the old board and tiles back. I had a time machine back up with the old version in it. So I deleted the game off my iPad, and replaced the app from my back up. Then I reinstalled the game again. I had the game back as it should be, and went back to playing many games a day. I then discovered I can buy the armies without updating the game to the horrible graphics so I ended up BUYING THEM ALL. If the designers are reading this should wake you up…the redesign has cost you goodwill by the games fans and also likely money in add on sales. I hope they update it so you can opt for the older tiles, and then start improving the Ai.

I used to love playing this game but with the new look all the tiles are confusing. The practically blend vs. some team tiles. Makes its difficult to play that I stopped entirely trying. Ill hop back when it goes back to something better.

This game is one of my favorites. Its a great strategy game that is easy to learn and hard to master. The teams are so different from each other, and it ensures endless replayability. Ive been able to learn how to play the board game through the app, including a few points that were unclear to me before. The app makes all the bonuses and boosts visible, making it easier to formulate a strategy. The combat is such that one battle will wipe out half the board, which is why its compared to a knife fight in a phone booth (thanks to Zee of The Dice Tower for the phrase) Its thrilling to experience. The only downside is the touch screen sometimes doesnt allow for input when looking at information. This is easily solved with closing and reopening the app. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next update of the app. Highly recommended!
